Petrol Remapping

At the heart of every modern vehicle engine is a computer called the Engine Control Unit (ECU). This tiny computer controls most aspects of an engine’s functionality and performance, including boost pressure, ignition timing, and air/fuel ratio. When a vehicle leaves the manufacturer’s production line these ECU settings are standardised. Altering them (remapping), results in an increase in economy or performance (often both), by removing/altering some of these standardised settings and generally, modern turbo-charged petrol engines respond well.

Careful, experienced optimisation and reprogramming of your ECU calibration file is carried out by West Lothian Remaps’s team of qualified technicians, and then rigorously tested before handing your car or van back to you to enjoy.

You must inform your insurance company of any remapping as it is considered a modification. Failure to disclose this could result in your insurance being invalidated. This kind of modification may also invalidate your manufacturer’s warranty, if applicable.
